I started a 'common sense' nutritional program. I don't call it the 'D' word, simply because a diet (thats a four letter word) just doesn't work for me. I typically start my day with this smoothie, and often end it the same way.

I make these for Priss, the Spoiled Rotten Pomeranian. She's part of the family too, so making her something special is fun for me too. With so many dog food and treat recalls lately, its scary when you read ingredients and wonder where the product came from. With this recipe, the cook knows exactly what goes in, and into their furkids.

best dang pickles you ever ate!

I'm a country girl! And sometimes it seems like the garden just 'turned' into a cucumber. We had so many, it was crazy! We love home made pickles, so this recipe is easy and they're very good.

peanut butter no-bake cookies

When I was in high school, I took Home Economics... as did a lot of young women.. and men. Actually I took the class because I wanted to learn to sew. I'd been cooking since I had to drag a chair to the stove to see in the pots. Surprisingly, this easy cookie recipe was the first one we got in class. Its been a favorite in my family since then.

carrot souffle'

This recipe is a bit labor intensive. Well, at least as far as my kitchen habits are concerned. But this is so good... its worth the extra effort for holidays... like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

easy cobbler

I made this in pans that measured about 2' x 3' at the restaurant I used to own. Doubling or even tripled the recipe. I used different canned fruits... or sometimes even combined them... half the pan was one flavor, the other half another flavor!
